Last week my son Brook and I had 2 gifts from the universe in one day. Both came to us on our own road. On the way to school we were treated to the sighting of a baby red fox. He crossed the road just yards in front of our car. On the way home from school we found this little guy happily eating leaves by the side of the road.

Here in Southeastern MN, I don't believe we have porcupines, but I have always wanted to see one close up. They are farther North in the state. I know someone who incorporates the quills in fiber art. And I often see those red foxes & their kits in the Fall here running on our road. They are beautiful. Glad you enjoy nature also, as I do with my son!
This guy was so indifferent to us. It was amazing. He just went about his business eating leaves while we snapped his picture about a hundred times. At least!I I have a whole box of quills I found near our house last year. I know I'll use them eventually.
