Back in Town

it didn't work out to do the photo shoot for the book at my now, home based studio.

several issues arrived - the most important being that there just wasn't enough room for all of us and the photo equipment around my table.

so I packed up and moved back to town, if only temporarily.

thank goodness for adolescent boys who are always willing to lend a hand.

I won't even attempt to count how often in their lifetimesI have moved my studio.

all in all it came out fairly well.

this is the main room with a great view of downtown

more to follow!

Soy wax batik in New Haven, CT

Just back from a weekend at the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven, CT teaching a workshop on soy wax batik with dye-na-flow. It is a great venue. Plus I grew up in New Haven, so it is always a blast to go back. It just so happened that Roseanne Cash was playing live as part of the city's free summer concert series. The first live concert I ever saw was Johnny Cash in New Haven as well. My older brother and one of his best friends had taken me. So I was feeling very nostalgic.

And - as I walked around town I had a chance to add more photos to my portfolio of lines. I'll talk more about that later.

Anyway, back to the weekend and not to leave out my students - who were fabulous! I've added some pics of their work.
