just a little peek at what these two students of mine are up too

As for me,
two weeks ago I decided to get out my watercolors. It had been years since I had gotten a chance
to work with them.
Much to my great sadness they had almost all completely dried up.
I used Winsor Newton watercolors in tubes. And they are hard as rock.
So yesterday I had a wonderful field trip to Jerry's Artarama with a good friend of mine.
It takes about an hour and 40 minutes to get there, so we had time to catch up on our lives and artwork.
I bought some acrylic inks. I was introduced to these when I was doing research for my book.
I am using them on this new large piece I am working on but needed some additional colors.
And I bought a tin of watercolors in cake form!
This is kind of a funny bird's eye view of my desk. But they're down there,
all 24 colors.
I used to work really big and splashy with watercolors.
Now I do that with textiles paints on stretched silk.
But because of my new interest in fabric design I am going to try
working a bit more graphically.
I am also going to give myself permission to draw and paint plants again.
I miss that activity dearly, so what the hell!
Who cares that I could probably do them in my sleep.
I realize now that it is
a bit of a meditative process for me.
And one I should keep.
What have you given yourself permission to do lately?
